To HUNTER. . .

I was a little baby when you took me home.
I was sick, you nursed me back to health.
Stayed with me through the night.
Made me whole and right.

As I grew, you trained me.
Together we learned the obedience ABCs.
In the ring, we did go.
To enjoy all the shows.

I saw your patience and glorification.
I made you proud.
I was your Hunter.

Hunter, you made us proud.  You were a loyal, wonderful dog who will leave a "hole in our hearts".  You were a great obedience/therapy dog who was a pleasure to have around.

Hunter was a gentle Golden who died unexpectedly on June 18, 2009 at the age of 11.  He will be sadly missed by his "brothers" and "sisters" - 2 Berners, 4 Goldens and 1 Cocker Spaniel.  Hunter always allowed the puppies in the household to share his bones and toys.  He taught them the ropes.  God bless Hunter-- and Mommy and Daddy are sure you will get your wings.
